Vēstnieks in real name Rūdolfs Macats was born in Riga, 1988. He is well known as a Latvian multi-instrumentalist; pianist, keyboardist, drummer, singer&songwriter, music producer and lyricist. He have studied music in Latvia, Denmark , Norway, Sweden and Netherlands. During the school period he was active as a session musician. Comming from classical , jazz and avant-garde background as a strong pianist and improviser, Rudolf got a master degree in “Nordic Composer” 2017. At the same time Rudolf started to be more interested in analogue synthesizers and his vocal development. Around that period the idea of Vēstnieks was born. In Latvian “Vēstīt” means “to tell” and “Vēstnieks” means “ambassador” 
 Sound and energy in “Vēstnieks” is created choosing Latvian language. Rudolf has a soft, airy falsetto voice and that can naturally bring fragile and intimate feel. Music is based on analog synthesizers and can be manipulated with electronic drums, and audio samples from nature. “Vēstnieks” can bring back the vibe from 1980s, 1990s pop. Some of the music can drive the folk, gospel, and soul. And some of the music can give you new vibrant discoveries.
